From a shared concern to a community-wide conversation.

What began with families asking why Abbotsford’s recreation infrastructure was falling behind has grown into a community movement calling for meaningful investment, stronger leadership and a healthier future for our city.

BUILT BY OUR COMMUNITY

This advocacy has never been about just the two of us.

Over the past year and a half, we have listened to parents, athletes, coaches, seniors, sport organizations, elected officials, candidates and City staff. Each conversation has helped us better understand where Abbotsford is falling short—and what residents need from their city.

We are incredibly grateful to every person who has shared an experience, offered expertise, signed our petition, encouraged our work or helped bring greater attention to this issue.

Your voices have helped turn recreation from a quiet concern into a defining community conversation.

what comes next

Our work is not finished.

As Abbotsford approaches the October 17 municipal election, we will continue asking questions, meeting with candidates, sharing information and helping residents understand where recreation fits within each candidate’s priorities.

We will continue advocating for safe and accessible facilities, realistic timelines, transparent decision-making and meaningful investment in the pools, arenas, fields, courts and community spaces Abbotsford needs.

The conversation has changed. Now it is time to turn that momentum into action.
